i recently stumbled upon one of the greatest arguments for pretty much any situation. if you ever find yourself wanting to convince someone to do something just reply with a cool 'might as well'. i know this sounds elementary, but sometimes the simplest things can yeild the greatest power. this response answers nothing and everything at the same time. its basically beautiful, elegant, and powerful (not unlike an e-machine). this phrase works particularly well during times of indecision because there is nothing to rebut. somehow it answers any hesitation and leaves nothing behind to be disputed. its not logical so theres nothing rational to argue against it
consider the real life example:
a friend comes over with an ungodly pile of free steak from outback steakhouse. they proceed to eat all but about 5 pieces, (an amount worthy of feeding an army or killing an average individual). "im stuffed and will puke if i eat another bite" they mutter in pain. "might as well" you'll say.
done. there's nothing else they can say. so they eat.
im only telling you this, because i want to spread the fun and the power. use this wisely and use it often, it will treat you well. might as well.

pfs. why'd you post that dumb picture?
might as well.

hey that's my dad on the left!
i was going to say might as well to you suggesting others saying might as well.. but it was funnier in my head.. now it just seems plain stupid. dang it
...might as well
that's my kind of fish
i remember that story oh so well.
Joel...marriage?
Might as well!
haha gotcha sucker! wish i had known that response when we first had that convo...
hahaha. see, what can i say.
aw man. monica stole my joke!
except on a serious note- I think Joel's real problem in regards to marriage is that he should stop saying non-specific, non-committal, indecisive garbage like "might as well." He needs to be able to say something specific and mean it and want it.
dont hold back liz, tell me what you really think. hah
your completely right though, thats what i want and need to do. its really frustrating that i dont, and that i feel like i cant.
i have too many excuses.
damn, she got you good
and i'll go one step further. joel throws out ideals -- whether funny things he plans to do, or serious, hard kinds of things in his life -- but he doesn't often follow through on them. and i know that's easier said then done, because an ideal is just that -- an ideal. but the rubber has to meet the road sometime. i know his friends want to see them become real as much as he does, but i'm puzzled.
sorry for being serious, seye.
yowzers.
p.s. why are you puzzled?
good point liz, good point...
in other words: man up and pay the piper?
ouch. what did i start.
eh, might as well.
might as well scott, everybody else is being serious...
might as well.
puzzled i guess because there's nothing i can do to help. i didn't mean to say you were a failure or something, though.
sorry for being the serious a**hole..
P.S. I finished HP7 yesterday.
i'm going to be gone tomorrow until the 31st
i genuinely appreciate everyone's candor. i hope it continues...honestly.
joel,
all week appel and i have used "might as well" and we have reaped the benefits of living life to the full, joel blaine style. amen, brutha.
