trains are pretty sweet. train stations are pretty nice too. i like how the board with train times and all that good stuff still flips around the old fashion way when it updates. i rode a train from baltimore penn station to newark penn station. i would have liked to get off at philly. if i had to commute long distances, i would try to ride a train. read, sleep, pee - you can do it all on a train. only problem is recirculated air...
i rode a train around japan. that was a great time. i hear a lot of transportation enthusiasts talking up trains/rails as the transportation of the future because they are super efficient and all that. sounds good to me. plus, it gets people together. even if you dont talk to a soul when your gathered with the masses, being around people, being exposed to differences, even visual adds to a more complete perspective - i think. (even spreading germs probably makes our immune systems more robust) not sure if thats true.
was public transportation one of the "stuff" that white people like? i think it could be in that list - but the more i think about it, its more a list of young urban professionals than it is white people or even young urban white professionals.
