what was before aim?

i have been on facebook a little more lately and its been a little more fun. however, i do find facebook sort of depressing? maybe its just me. maybe itsbecause i dont write on peoples walls much and facebook is more of a telescope than a telephone. i like staying connected with people, but i dont really do that. i friend people with all the expectations of a fluffy new-old friendship, but i never end up talking to them.

i tried to get bert to teach me the ways of how to master facebook. he and seye seem good at it and i wanted to be like them. i learned a few tricks about where to look for photos and that increased the enjoyability a bit, but i think im too slow a learner. i do not mean to dis facebook. i think it actually is a pretty great thing. seye for one seems to actually use it for good and not evil in that he actually stays connected with people with the help of facebook. i feel that i have to distinguish that im not hating because i did hate on it at first and i think its easy to hate on something when you are not good at it, or if you use it for evil (i probably fall into at least one of those categories). facebook is
